for me...well... let's just say I OWN an original copy of UT2004 and have to INSTALL it. lol

I have 2k4. I played it for a little while but couldn't get into it, the onslaught mode was pretty cool , but definately doesn't beat the original by any means.. From what i've heard of 2k7 and read on whats available right now. It looks perfect, ut99 game engine, with some of the bells and whistles from 2k4. I won't convert in the sense i'll stop playing 99 forever, but i'll definately check it out and probably play it just as much.

well according to my xfire i have over 500 hrs on 99, about 24hrs on 2k4 lol

I guess I can't say for sure I'd convert until I played the game for myself... but for now, I'll just say "No"

In 2k4 I liked onslaught playing the demo etc. but I just couldnt get into the CTF and Deathmatches, I really didnt care for all the weird super moves and jumps... Although they are cool ... It was overkill for my taste. I want my dodge and jump to come from my own reflexes rather than some preset macro style move. It just makes the game action too blurry and less clean. I.E. Way too much extra crap happening which takes away from the core excitement of the battle (pure adrenaline and reflex) which, by contrast, comes stock with UT99.
Have we not learned that "less is more" in sequals by now in the gaming industry? (An abstract perspective but one that UT has proven true through poor sequals up untill the next anticipated release that is... ) :ninja1:

Couldn't agree with you more! I will have to give 2k7 a shot of course. I played 2k4 for a little bit and i never got into it. I was always getting dizzy everytime i played it and the body styles of the characters were blah at best. I dont really wanna call it 2k7, makes me feel old. How about "Ut 99 Sniper Dejavu"

Amen to that!!! Back in the days we didnt have the ability to just jump all high and do acrobatics. In our time, we were shot for our boots and protection. Now you guys just get your pills and think you got the adrenaline to do whatever....
