UT3 computer spec requirements

finally first definitive, specific information on computer specs needed for UT that I've seen.

The game was made with dual-core processor in mind, so there's no reason in buying a quad-core CPU. 2Gb of RAM should be more then enough, and to run the game comfortably on lowest detail you'll need a card of GeForce 6600 level. The PC used to play the game (Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz, 2Gb RAM, 8800GTS 320Mb) provided a stable 65fps - nice framerate! The game's release is planned for this November.

I don't think my PC would run it very well, if at all, but I've already started saving, and at the end of January am buying a good PC. I'll list the specs for what I'm thinking about getting:

Intel Q6600 Quad Core processor ~2.44 Ghz (Can be overclocked to 3.0 Ghz with ease, I've heard, and in rare cases up to 3.7 Ghz. In an article I read, the q6600 overclocked beats out the dual core equivalent, e6850, in every game it was tested on)

Asus P5N32 680i SLI Mobo

2 x 2048 Mb PC6400 RAM

GeForce 8800GTX 768Mb

WD Raptor 150Gb 10,000RPM

Antec ATX Gamer 900 case

Thermaltake Toughpower 850W PSU

The website I configured it on lists that at 2000, which is around what I'm shooting for. My next goal would be a dell 30" LCD 2560 x 1600 and another 8800gtx. Ah, dreams...


EDIT*** The ram above is 800Mhz, do you guys think I'd be better off getting 3 Gb instead, but at 1200Mhz? I'll be using 64 bit Vista Home Premium.

I probably won't even like it. My brain is gettin slow lol... can't handle fast paced games like Unreal these days. Time to play some slow paced games (fear) or strategy games (warcraft) for me
