I'm old skool CRT and stubborn

I'll make the switch probably after my current 21" Sony Trinitron burns out... thing must weigh like 80 lbs.

And I play at 1280 x 1024 for a happy medium between resolution and size. 1600's a bit drastic since my eyes aren't getting any sharper but I can't bear to play anything in 1024 anymore.

Yeah I'm still a CRT lover at heart too. But I'll tell you the ONLY one thing I dig about these LCDs is how light they are weight wise. My 19" crts I can move by myself. But damn I almost get hernas trying to move the 21" ones!

I'm with ya on that... but the time is getting much closer where LCD will be suitable replacesments for CRTs even for designers. heck, designers already woork on the big LCD from apple.

when that day is here...I'll covert fully. for now, its just piece by piece.
gotta say though tilt and rotate pwns on LCDs.

I am such a CRT fool. Loved mine.

Then it happened. Viewsonic XV922 went on sale. Got it. Freaking love it!

i have a 17" LCD and a 17" CRT - i aint got enough space on my desk to run dual screens so i just stick to my CRT but im always changing them around

LCD does that mean I can blame my monitor for sucky game play???? lol

check out newegg, you can get pretty low ms, mines 8 but i've seen them as low as 4

I am use to playing on a 15in CRT monitor, been playing like that for years. Now I just got my husband's 19in CRT monitor and WOW sooooo much better!!

He just upgraded to a 26 in HD LCD monitor. Can't remember if it has 8ms or 10 ms response time. But he played WOW, CSS and UT and no hang ups or Ghosting.

how's UT play on that? do you get a wider field of view?

Well I havent gotten a chance to play UT on it yet.....Husband is a screen hog!!

From what I see you can increase the res and it appears to me you get a slight wider field of view. UT plays real nice on it. No ghosting or freezing. Also played CSS on it with no probs.
It is mainly my husband's computer but I did try playing F.E.A.R on it and WOW!!!
