Did you oooh and ahh at the fantastic gaming graphics that accompanied today's Apple keynote? You won't have to wait for next week's iOS 4.1 to get a taste of those textures for yourself. Though the full-on gladiator dueling of Epic's "Project Sword" may be a while off, you can get your hot little hands on "Epic Citadel" right now, a 82.2 megabyte download that explores a beautiful medieval castle town. Oh, and did we mention it's free? Even id Software's mindblowing 60FPS Rage demo must be quaking in its boots right about now.

Borderlands GOTY Adds DLC, Bonus Map (http://www.beyondunreal.com/view_story.php?id=13242)

The lid is off the much-anticipated Borderlands Game of the Year edition, which will debut October 12, 2010. 360 and PS3 owners will have to cough up $59.99 retail, while interested PC gamers are on the hook for $49.99. The bonus map, unfortunately, is not of the playable variety but should appeal more towards fans of cartography or just those who hate to stop to ask for directions.
Borderlands Game of the Year edition will come with tokens for download of the recently announced add-on pack, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, as well as the three previous best-selling destructive downloadable adventures - the living dead-filled The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, the ultimate video game survival of the fittest test Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, and the utterly fantastic The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. Also included, will be a complete and comprehensive map of the Borderlands territories.

With this definitive collection, gamers will now have the perfect chance to join in and experience what millions of Borderlands fans already adore. They’ll find a highly addictive video game that calls for unleashing furious anger upon a sinister corporation’s well-armed armada and Pandora’s local inhospitable inhabitants, while searching for the secret of The Vault that is chock full of extra bonuses and add-ons.

The finished product will be a more rounded game and should feature more maps, characters, weapons and also a few other features.

The idea behind this is to get the Crucible to a profesional standard, playing well and supporting us to make more cool games The final result will be it's own game, and not a UT3 mod, as the currently released versions play We'll be sure to update you as we progress, but we hope to manage it quickly, and we'll be working very hard at completing it and other projects. Which brings me to my next point.

Anyone familiar with their previous work will understand that polishing it to a professional level won't be much of a stretch. The team is also hinting at a second project in the works and we're definitely looking forward to hearing more about it!

New Bulletstorm Screens From Gamescom (http://www.beyondunreal.com/view_story.php?id=13233)

Today we received three gigantor screenshots of Bulletstorm in action, and boy do they look crazy. We have a giant monster-like creature being attacked (Heckaton), some weird zombie looking guys moving in (Burnout), and a tranquil city street with a building toppling over into it. I'm sold (though, to be fair, I already essentially was)!

Monday Night Combat Reviews Are In... (http://www.beyondunreal.com/view_story.php?id=13235)

Monday Night Combat, the latest XBLA game to be powered by UE3, is bringing in some pretty favorable reviews. Gamespot scores it (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/mondaynightcombat/review.html) 8/10 and says that "Clever combat mechanics and diverse soldier classes make this third-person shooter addictive and entertaining" and Giant Bomb sees it (http://www.giantbomb.com/monday-night-combat/61-29806/) as a 4/5 star title, citing that "For $15, there's an awful lot of varied, satisfying multiplayer action in here".

Currently, it's an XBLA-exclusive title, but it looks like it'd be a great title for the PC. Seeing as it's published by Microsoft Game Studios, one could guess that it has a much stronger chance of showing up on GFWL than it would Steam.

Digital Extremes Brings Homefront To PC (http://www.beyondunreal.com/view_story.php?id=13236)

Welcome back, Digital Extremes, to the Unreal Engine! THQ announces that the Canadian studio will be bringing Kaos Studios' Homefront to the PC in early 2011.
Homefront on PC further illustrates THQ’s commitment to PC gamers with additional features and options for multiplayer fans.

“Digital Extremes has a superb track record in PC development,” said David Votypka, General Manager at Kaos Studios, THQ. “While the team here at Kaos is completely focused on the core Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Homefront, our partnership with Digital Extremes means that PC gamers can look forward to a version of the game tailored to the demands of the discerning PC gamer.”

“We’re building on the great game that Kaos Studios is making and enhancing it with specific PC relevant features,” added Frank De Lise, Executive Producer, Digital Extremes. “PC players will be able to set up and host Homefront dedicated servers and enjoy additional community features including clan support. We believe the core PC first-person-shooter fan will really appreciate these features, which are becoming increasingly rare.”

Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution Officially Announced (http://www.beyondunreal.com/view_story.php?id=13229)

The DLC will be available this September for $9.99 on PS3, 360 and PC. Claptrap's New Robot Revolution will pit players against the Ninja Assassin Claptrap who has started a robot revolution. The expansion is said to add more than 20 new missions, add another 10 available skill points, and add three more backpack slots.
“A year ago Borderlands was an untested brand that through hard work and a lot of passion, turned out to be one of the best-selling, claptastic and skagtacular games we have ever created,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “A year later, we are releasing our fourth DLC installment, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, which illustrates our enthusiasm for creating highly entertaining content that enhances a franchise. In addition to serving as the perfect bookend to the original game, what gamer doesn’t love a kung-fu-wielding Ninja Assassin Claptrap with nunchuck skills?”
Full press release in the comments.

Irrational Games Announces Bioshock Infinite (http://www.beyondunreal.com/view_story.php?id=13230)

Image: http://www.beyondunreal.com/media/thumbs/bs3_100812_1_200.jpg (http://www.beyondunreal.com/image_gallery.php?image=bs3_100812_1.jpg&lock_date=1)Irrational Games and 2K Games today issued a press release announcing an upcoming installment in the Bioshock series entitled Bioshock Infinite. The game will be released on 360, Ps3 and PC, as the previous two games, however instead of taking place in the familiar underwater city of Rapture, Bioshock Infinite will take place on a floating island in the sky named Columbia.
The player assumes the role of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the lost city to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman imprisoned there since childhood. He develops a relationship with Elizabeth, augmenting his abilities with hers so the pair may escape from a city that is literally falling from the sky. DeWitt must learn to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harness the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities.
